Newport, Oregon

Newport, Oregon is a town of over 9,500 residents.  It lies between the Pacific Ocean and Yaquina Bay.  Its location has made it a good place for fishing, clamming, and crabbing.  Newport also has been a resort community for over 100 years.

Newport is the home of the Oregon State University Hatfield Marine Science Center.   It is at this dock area that the R/V Wecoma can be found when in port.
