Warm-up
1. Ask learners to look at the picture on this page.

2. Use the questions to introduce a discussion of various types of homes and locations. Have learners describe their dream houses. You might want to have pictures of different homes on hand in order to prompt learners to talk about different house styles.

3. Next talk about how the housing in the United States compares with housing in the learners’ native countries. Did they live in apartments or houses? Did they live with other family members or alone? Did their homes have heat or air-conditioning?
