Live, Interactive Courses for Adults

In January, 1997, ESD 101 began production of live, interactive broadcast courses in adult basic education/adult literacy. The programs are disseminated nationwide via satellite and cable. In-service programs and CD-ROM supplements also are being developed. Collaborating partners include state literacy directors affiliated with the Northwest Regional Literacy Resource Center.

The 1997-1998 school year begins with the first class broadcast on Monday, September 22, 1997 and concludes with the final class broadcast on May 29, 1998.

Fall, 1997 courses will include:

• Practical Math M, W, Th (2 p.m. Pacific Time)
• General Education Diploma (GED) Preparation M, W, Th (3 p.m. Pacific Time)
• English as a Second Language (ESL)/Citizenship II M, W, Th (4 p.m. Pacific Time)
• English as a Second Language (ESL)/Citizenship III M, W, Th (2 p.m. Pacific Time)
• Career Transitions T, Th (3 p.m. Pacific Time)
