We are a service of the State Literacy Resource Center and Willows Public Library. Our mission is to provide a training site and viewing site for various materials such as computer software, print, audio and video. Our print, audio and video materials are also available for checking out for two weeks through our library system and will be disseminated upon request. Our office also coordinates training for outreach areas in order to better serve the farther reaches of Northern California. We collaborate our efforts with OTAN: Outreach Technical Assistance Network of Sacramento; SDI: Staff Development Institute, also of Sacramento; Willows Area Literacy Project; Northern California Literacy Coalition; Grant and Resource Center of Northern California and other educational and governmental agencies in our service area. Through this network we are able to coordinate efforts to provide resources and technology for accessibility to all education providers in our service area.

Northern California Literacy Resource Center is located in Willows, which is about 90 miles north of Sacramento on Interstate 5 in Glenn County. We are also about 90 miles south of Redding and about 30 miles southwest of Chico. We serve 14 counties in Northern California. These counties are Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity. Of course anyone from other counties are welcome to come to our trainings and share our resources.
