The Merced Regional Resource Center provides the following Staff Development and Technical Assistance activities:
Provide a Resource Library of curriculum in the area of ESL, ABE, GED, Citizenship, Workplace Literacy, Family Literacy, and Education Research. Materials include learner books, videos, supplemental materials, teacher reference, training modules, and software (optional mail delivery when needed).
Host and facilitate regional meetings/workshops as requested by SDI and SLRC.
Provide the regional agencies with an updated calendar and flyers of upcoming workshops.
Provide Adult Education technical assistance to Adult Education Agencies.
Site visits include a literacy lab, computerized basic skills lab, traditional classrooms, and one-on-one tutoring.
ESL Citizenship Classes
ESL Citizenship classes are offered at Merced Adult School. The classes run on Tuesday & Thursday from 12 noon to 3pm and from 6pm to 9pm. Class sessions last 12 weeks and will continue to be offered as long as there is a need for them.
INS Approved Citizenship Testing Site
Merced Adult School is an INS approved citizenship test site. Citizenship testing is offered once a month. For more information, please call (209) 385-6524.
