Project Money is a free service designed with input from adult learners to help other learners. By using clear and simple language, we want to help remove some of the intimidation that keeps many people from achieving their financial goals. This site does not provide any specific financial advice; instead, the goal is to give you and your students access to information to make their own decisions.
This site has beginning material on:
- Setting up a Savings and Spending Plan; this section also includes a workbook and workshop guide with video clips
- Bank Accounts
- Credit Cards
- Income Taxes
- Other Resources – links to additional topics and programs
Getting Started with Your Students
Let your learner be your guide as to how much they want to share about their personal finances.
Each section of this website has links to more comprehensive resources on that topic. Two general websites that the Project Money learner team found particularly user-friendly were:
- The Beehive – an overview of all aspects of managing money; written in non-technical language; straightforward presentation with some interactive elements like quizzes (also available in Spanish)
- Hands-On Banking – an overview of banking and managing money from Wells Fargo (also available in Spanish). It has audio and learner-friendly language and visuals. There are short “lessons” on several topics. You will need the most recent version of Flash to view this site.
Thank you for helping people develop more ease and ability with their money. We welcome your feedback and suggestions!
