How much will it cost?

Ask the bank for a list of all the fees you will be charged.  Keep it for future reference so you will not be surprised. 

• Is there a monthly fee for the account? 
  
  
• How much will it cost to order checks?
  
  
• If I keep a minimum balance, is there still a monthly fee?
  
  
• What is the cost if I go below the minimum balance?
  
  
• Is there a fee for every check I write?
  
  
• How many checks can I write each month
  without getting charged?
  
  
• What is the fee if I write a check that is for more
  than I have in my account (a “bounced” or bad check)?
  
  
• How much does “overdraft protection” cost?
  
  
• Is there a fee to use the ATM? To see a bank teller?
  
  
• How many times can I use the ATM for free each month?
  
  
• Is there a phone number I can call to check
  my account balance? How many times can I
  call that number each month for free?
