In August I went back to Virginia, where I met the POPs team members who will be in Antarctica. I spent a week there, learning many interesting things!

Michele is unloading glassware from the Muffle furnace. The glassware has been baked at 550 degrees Celsius for four hours. It is really clean!!	This is the apparatus that was used to clean the XAD material in the filtering thimbles. There is a learning activity about this process called "Clean the XAD."
