Highly toxic pollutants, created in the middle latitudes such as North America, Africa, Europe, and Asia, go airborne and make their way to the polar regions. There they settle into the ice and get released into the oceans. What happens next? How do these persistent organic pollutants (POPs) affect the food chain?
