Characteristics Things to do
Young babies can see. They can see bright colors and black and white things best. They like to look at people. They will look into the eyes of the person holding them. Babies will look at a face 8 to 12 inches from their eyes. At about 6 weeks they will smile at faces. Place a black and white picture of a face on the side of the crib. Put an unbreakable mirror on the wall at floor level. Then your baby can sit in an infant seat and look at himself. Smile and say “Ah-boo” as you lean toward your baby. Gently bump your head to your baby's.
