Characteristics Things to do
Three year olds can learn to count and recognize numbers. They need to see and touch things to understand what numbers really mean. Cut the top off an empty egg carton. Write the numbers 1-12 in the cups with the marking pen. Give your child buttons, beans, or macaroni to count out each number from 1-12 into the cups.
When you read a new story to your child, ask him to predict the ending. You can guess an ending, too. Finish the story to see what happens. Remember: There are no wrong guesses.
