| Babies live from moment to moment. If something
is out of their sight, it is out of their mind. This means young babies
can't remember something they can't see. This is called object
permanence. |
Show your baby a favorite toy. Now hide it
behind a piece of cardboard. Does your baby try to find the toy or
just look away? When your baby tries to find the toy, you know he
is developing object permanence. This isn't something you can
teach your baby. It happens by itself, when your baby is ready. |
