| Toddlers learn to walk and soon they are
running! Learning to use their legs and arms is their most important
job now. They need to throw, run and climb. |
Toddler Basket Ball:
Hold a big plastic laundry basket and catch a ball as
your child throws it. Empty cardboard grocery boxes are good for climbing
in and out of. Time on the swings, slides, and climbing gyms at the
playground will help your child develop arm and leg muscles. |
| Toddlers learn about things by handling them
and putting things in their mouths. Their hands are starting to do
what their brains tell them. Finger-painting and scribbling with a
fat crayons help toddlers develop small muscles. |
Let your child finger paint with pudding
or a whipped topping on her high-chair tray. Let your child turn on
lights, open doors, turn on the faucet to wash hands and play with
wind-up toys. |
