The Palau Adult Education Program conducts services to the out-of-school population of the Republic of Palau. These services range from "quality of life" trainings such as making earth stoves, cooking and recipes, etc., to conducting literacy and certificate courses such as beginning english, GED, etc.
Providing services to this group is a challenge because Palauan is not a written language. With the increasing importance of English as the language of business and international relations, the Program is looking for ways to provide adequate services within its limited financial and resource capability.
For an underdeveloped country such as Palau, basic services are a priority.
