Description Read Aloud America builds communities of lifetime readers by helping adults and children discover the joy and enrichment of reading and being read to. RAP, the Read Aloud Program: RAP is a unique semester-long, school-based family literacy program that draws parents and children together twice a month in the early evening to hear good books. RAP stimulates interest in reading, increases family time spent in reading activities, and connects the values and lessons of good books to daily life. Each RAP session includes free snacks, drinks, and dinner. Families who participate build Family Reading Handbooks and receive free books, reading lists, and parenting tips.
