Unit 3 : Lesson 1: What you should know about mortgage loans

Talk about it

Divide into pairs. Imagine that Partner A is ready to buy a house. Partner B is an “experienced” friend who will ask Partner A about what kind of mortgage he or she needs. Partner B should ask questions such as:

1. How long a repayment term do you want?

2. What type of mortgage do you think you need?

3. What will you do to get the best possible interest rate?

4. How large a down payment can you make?

5. How much do you think you will need to pay closing costs?
