Interpreting product warranties Printer

An appliance warranty

Every new appliance should come with a warranty. Most warranties for an appliance will tell you: 1) what is covered, 2) what is not covered, 3) how long the warranty covers the appliance, and 4) where to go to get the problem fixed. Many warranties are full warranties for the first year or two. This means they will cover all new parts and services at no charge.

After that time, there may be a limited warranty, covering only certain parts for several more years. You should always keep the sales receipt or some other proof to show the date you purchased the appliance. The warranty below is for a dishwashing machine.

CLEAN AND BRIGHT
DISHWASHING COMPANY

FULL ONE-YEAR WARRANTY

The Clean and Bright Dishwashing Company will repair or replace, without charge, any part of your dishwasher which has a defect during the first year after the date of purchase. This warranty extends to any dishwasher located in the United States or Canada.

LIMITED TEN-YEAR WARRANTY

For ten years from the date of purchase, we will provide parts to replace the tub or door liner if it does not function properly due to a manufacturing defect. You must pay for the service labor charges.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

1. Repair of any machine whose original serial number has been removed or changed.

2. Damage that results from improper installation, modification, or repair not attributable to a defect in the material or workmanship.

3. Conditions resulting from improper use or maintenance, or use of incorrect electrical
current or voltage.

4. Trips by a service representative to teach you how to use the machine.

5. Products used for anything other than normal household use.

6. Damage to the machine caused by accident, fire, floods, or acts of God.
