Growing Up in Mexico Without an
Education
By Jesus Rodriguez
I don't have any school in Mexico only when you
started teaching here. It's very hard for me to write in
English and to speak in English. I know my English is not
too good.
In Mexico I work ail the time. I started early in the
morning and worked late in the evening. I don't have time
to go to school. My father had 12 children and he worked
every day to buy food for the family. When I had 12 years
I told my father I want to go to school and he told me I
have to work. It's a big problem. I don't write in
Spanish.
Right now I speak a little bit of English because too
many persons help me. I want to try to continue in school
because everyone have to continue with school to get a
better job.
