Love
By May May Miller
There are all kinds of love in the world.... spouse
love, Valentine love, father and sons, mother and
daughters, etc.
I'd like to talk about the love my husband and I have
for our two daughters. Their names are Chanel and
Tiffany, ages five and three. They are Chinese-American
mixed babies.
Our daughters have a good life because we work hard to
make that happen. For example, our daughters like to go
to Disneyland. Because of that, we go to Disneyland every
year around Thanksgiving holiday. The past four years we
celebrated Thanksgiving in L. A.
Chanel's favorite part of Disneyland is the Splash
Mountain! Tiffany's favorite part is to hug Mickey Mouse!
Our favorite part is to enjoy our daughters laughing and
having fun!
The other thing I can tell about how much I love my
daughters is how I "force" them to eat. As a Chinese
mother, I worry a lot about how much my two girls eat or
do not eat. But my American husband does not. We have
disagreement about this. He would rather not force kids
to eat. That's the way he respects and loves his
daughters. I thought differently. Small children do not
know how much they should eat. I can't sleep at night if
my children do not eat enough!
Anyway, what I have decided to do about helping my
children to eat normally and to grow up healthy and happy
is to keep cooking good meals to put love in the dish!
