90% finished
B. There are 3 billion pieces of information in a DNA
molecule
C. DNA is made up of four chemicals represented by the
letters a, c, g, and t
D. The four letters are combined to make many different
combinations
E. Technology has made it possible to map the strings of
DNA
III. Researchers hope to
find out how to cure diseases
A. Researchers are
finding genes faster than they can figure out what the
genes do
B. Researchers are studying breast cancer, cystic
fibrosis, and Parkinson's diseas
C. The challenge will be to use the map of the genome to
cure diseases
