AIDS Drugs for African Victims

I. People in Africa are dying from AIDS
A. The cost of AIDS drugs
is more than people earn in Africa.
B. In the US many AIDS drugs are thrown away each year.
II. Lee Wildes learns about
the problem.
A. Learned that he was
HIV positive
B. Took a trip to Africa
1. Saw the large number
of people with AIDS in Africa
2. Learned they did not have the same life saving drugs.
III. Lee Wildes tries to
help.
A. As a nurse, he knew
many drugs were thrown away.
B. Through e-mail, letters, and phone calls he learns about needed
drugs.
C. He fills the orders for the needed drugs.
1. Doctors tell him which
drugs.
2. This is against the law, but he probably won't be put in jail.
IV. The Success story
A. About 100 patients in
6 African countries get the needed drugs.
B. There are over 25 million Africans with the AIDS virus.
C. Maybe this will be a new way of helping people.
