It is common sense that we enjoy learning more when it is fun. Engaging in games can also help to build a relationship between tutors and learners by “breaking the ice.” (We also learn better when we are relaxed.)
Literacy Connections offers a variety of word games on its web site. They include games that practice phonics, sight words and more. Some are geared to children, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t fun and effective for adults. Check them out for new ideas and we hope something sparks a game plan for you!
