Visit the Tombstone Transcription site at http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery and offer to document the names and dates of individuals buried in your local cemetery. Those names will be added to a nationwide database that eventually will encompass every local cemetery in the United States. When complete, this database will be an incredible tool for genealogy research.
